Where art and food mingle

Katonah Museum gears up to present its annual fundraising gala, “Food Wine Art Love,” June 9.

Art lovers and gourmets alike will also want to mark their calendars for the Katonah Museum of Art (KMA) fundraising gala, “Food Wine Art Love, “June 9. The event, which benefits the museum’s exhibits and educational programs, will honor John Crabtree, president of Crabtree’s Kittle House in Chappaqua and a longtime KMA supporter and culinary figure in Westchester County. Guests will enjoy a tasting menu inspired by Crabtree’s farm-to-table cuisine. The evening will also feature a curated auction of contemporary artwork from galleries and private collections throughout New York City.

“My family and I have loved visiting the museum over the years,” Crabtree has said. “I couldn’t be happier to help the KMA, an invaluable community asset, continue to thrive and grow.”

The evening’s theme was also inspired by KMA’s current exhibit, “Picturing Love: Photography’s Pursuit of Intimacy.”

The evening begins in the Marilyn M. Simpson Sculpture Garden, where guests can treat themselves to seasonally inspired cocktails. Following the dinner and auction, guests can enjoy music and dancing there at a starlit “Silent Disco” – a social experience where attendees dance to music on wireless headphones beneath the night sky.
