It was around this time last year when we shared a warm-weather cocktail recipe from Runamok Maple – and we’re about to do it again.
After all, you can never have too many warm-weather cocktail ideas – especially for distinctive (and delicious) drinks that feature ingredients from the Vermont-based company.
All of Runamok Maple’s products are certified organic by Vermont Organic Farmers and sourced from Vermont woods that are certified as bird-friendly by Audubon Vermont. The maple syrups, packaged in distinctive glass bottles, are not only for mixing cocktails. Get creative and use the different syrups for all kinds of dishes, from savory to sweet. Among the unexpected flavors are Elderberry Infused Maple Syrup, Makrut Lime-Leaf Infused Maple Syrup and Hibiscus Flower Infused Maple Syrup.
Last time, we sampled the Cardamom Infused Maple Syrup in one of Runamok’s recipes, using it to create a memorable sangria.
This time, we look forward to trying out one of the samples we received as the days (eventually) warm up enough to be sipping this fruit-filled refresher:
WATERMELON INFUSED SLUSHIE
- 3 cups cubed, seedless watermelon
- 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons Makrut Lime-leaf or Hibiscus Infused Maple Syrup
Puree the watermelon and lemon juice in a blender. Add the Makrut Lime-leaf or Hibiscus Infused maple syrup to taste. (As the sugar content varies in fruit, adjust to your liking). Serve over ice.
Runamok Maple’s maple syrup retail for $16.95 for a 250ml bottle.
