Going once, going twice…

Raising a paddle to help the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County

The partnership announced in July between The SoNo Collection, the new Brookfield Properties Mall in Norwalk, and the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County (CAFC) – in which The SoNo Collection commissioned 10 artists to paint works in the mall – has now come to fruition, with the paintings viewable in the Peoples United Magnificent Room (Shopping Level Two) and the Bloomingdale’s Court (Shopping Level One).

The SoNo Collection has donated the paintings to The Cultural Alliance, which is auctioning them in a silent auction now in progress at https://bit.ly/cafcsonoauction. The paintings with the highest bids will be auctioned live in a virtual auction Saturday, Oct. 3 at 5:30 p.m. The organizer of the auction is ibidmobile.net.

“We’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with the Cultural Alliance of Fairfield County to donate 10 works of art, live-painted over the summer in our center, to help promote the arts and culture of Fairfield County,” said Matt Seebeck, senior general manager of The SoNo Collection. “We recognize and appreciate how the Cultural Alliance operates as an agent, working closely with the artists, curators, producers and presenters in the region to create a sense of community and encourage everyone to consider bidding on the works of art.”

David Green, executive director of the Cultural Alliance, added: “Our board and staff at CAFC are thrilled that our neighbor, The SoNo Collection, selected us to receive a donation of these artworks commissioned from local artists. We applaud their engagement with the artists and residents of the community….”
