A sale gets even bigger (and better)

Who doesn’t love a warehouse or sample sale? It’s shopping with an extra dose of excitement. After all, you can score not only great deals but often some pretty unique finds.

I wrote about Samuel and Donna Smith, the couple behind Casafina, in WAG’s November 2011 “Passionate Pursuits” issue. The company known for its importing of hand-painted ceramic tabletop items and gifts from Europe has mega-sample sales several times a year at its Brewster headquarters.

The latest is under way, continuing through Sunday.

And in addition to great tabletop items and gifts from Casafina, this edition will also feature one-of-a-kind pieces and archived items from Liora Manné. I’ve long been a fan of Manné’s work – vibrant home goods and personal accessories I discovered at an industry showcase in Manhattan many years ago. I would go on to write about her, touring her Manhattan factory and talking about her life at a weekend home in Westchester.

Having her work at the Casafina sale can only add to the festivities. See you there!

The sale runs from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. through April 5 and from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 6. Casafina is in the Orchard Ridge Corporate Park at 301 Fields Lane.
