For a good cause

There’s a Manhattan event being held later this month to benefit a Vermont college.

So why does WAG care? Well, April 29’s “Uncut Diamonds: Brilliance Through Innovative Education” will feature Simon Teakle – of Simon Teakle Fine Jewelry & Objects in Greenwich – as the evening’s auctioneer.

With a number of other locals also involved, the event at Robert, the restaurant at the Museum of Arts and Design in Manhattan, will certainly sparkle. Whoopi Goldberg is the evening’s special guest, set to join Landmark College’s president Peter Eden and its board of trustees as funds are raised for the school’s students and “the power of innovative education.” Goldberg will talk about succeeding with a learning disability.

The school, which serves students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities, ADHD and ASD, offers two- and four-year degrees from its campus in Putney, Vt.

The event will run from 6 to 9 p.m. Cocktail attire is suggested. Tickets are $500, with sponsor tables available at $10,000 through $50,000.

For more details, or to make a reservation, requested by April 15, contact Chelsea Gwyther at (802) 387-6870 or chelseagwyther@landmark.edu.
