$cents and sensibility

The New York Botanical Garden and historic American perfumer-chemist Caswell-Massey get together for NYBG’s latest gift collaboration.

We’ve thrilled to the New York Botanical Garden’s home design collaboration with Oscar de la Renta. We’ve swooned over its accessories creations with Erwin Pearl. So we couldn’t wait to sniff out its latest – soaps with historic American perfumer/chemist Caswell-Massey in lilac, gardenia and honeysuckle that smell like the real deal. The sets of three, which retail for $24, are perfect for the hostess-gift-giving season. Better still, they’re packaged to showcase botanical works in the Rare Book and Folio Collections of the Garden’s LuEsther T. Mertz Library, with a portion of the proceeds going to the Garden’s programs.

There are also hand creams and, soon, a fragrance involving International Flavors & Fragrances. Says Caswell-Massey President Nick Arauz:

“The creative collaboration between Caswell-Massey, NYBG, and IFF is a natural fit, and we’re honored to work alongside these other iconic American institutions. Since our founding in 1752, we have been driven by a passion for botanical formulations, fragrances, and original remedies created from the natural world. This is a remarkable partnership that enables us to bring the incredible experience of the Garden directly to our customers.”
