Athleisure wear, including the ubiquitous yoga pants, has become the go-to weekend uniform. But denim is making a comeback. Witness Levi Strauss becoming a publicly traded company once more yesterday. The shares – priced around $17 per share – are in big demand, with the company’s overall value set at $6.6 billion.
You don’t have to know a thing about the stock market, however, to see that denim is hot, hot, hot. Just take a look at the runway. Denim will be a big focus of the “Spring Trends Fashion Show” at 1 p.m. tomorrow (March 23) in – where else? – the retailer’s denim department. Fashion influencer Simone Piliero of @SimplybySimone is your host for the latest in denim, Ts, activewear, daytime looks and more. There will be tips on blogging and social media, a flower wall, spring-inspired cocktails, doughnuts, raffles and a post-show podcast. It’s all part of the store’s Denim Days offer – 15 percent off one pair, 25 percent off two or more pairs of regularly priced jeans.
