GIFF spotlights social issues

Through Sunday, Feb. 21, the Greenwich International Film Festival presents 10 films as part of its virtual “Social Impact Film Showcase.”

Through Sunday, Feb. 21, the Greenwich International Film Festival presents 10 films as part of its virtual “Social Impact Film Showcase.” They include Q&As with directors, actors and producers and an award ceremony on Saturday, Feb. 20 at 5 p.m.,  during which the Best Social Impact Film Award will be announced.

The winner will receive $10,000 from Ann Bresnan Young, with selection by GIFF jurors Ann Bresnan Young, president of the Bill and Ann Bresnan Foundation; Ryan Harrington, vice president of National Geographic Documentary Films; and filmmaker Eric Heimbold, owner of Marabou Pictures LLC and Eric Heimbold Studio.
