More ‘Stardust’ memories

The Museum of Arts and Design’s “RE:FINE Virtual Jewelry Trunk Show and Cocktail Hour” on Zoom Nov. 17 will feature the launch of the ravishing coffee-table book “Stardust: The Work and Life of Jeweler Extraordinaire Frederic Zaavy.”

In September WAG, we wrote about Frederic Zaavy,  the otherworldly Parisian jeweler who died too young, 46, in 2011, and the new tribute to his creations, “Stardust: The Work and Life of Jeweler Extraordinaire Frederic Zaavy” (Officina Libraria, $75, 246 pages). In October we followed up with an interview with John Bigelow Taylor and Dianne Dubler, the photographic couple behind the book.

Now Zaavy’s spirit and the Hudson Valley pair come together in the Museum of Arts and Design’s “RE:FINE Virtual Jewelry Trunk Show and Cocktail Hour,” featuring the launch of the book, on Tuesday November 17, from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Zoom.

The evening will be led by Kyle Roderick, who writes about luxury jewelry for forbes.com and founded bijouxreview.com, and features a behind-the-scenes look at jeweler Ray Griffiths’ work and process.

Guests will receive a 20% savings on all “RE:FINE” (redefining fine jewelry) jewelry purchases at The Store at MAD Online and participating artists’ websites.

All proceeds from your Store at MAD purchases go to supporting MAD’s artists, exhibits and educational programs.
