Sailing into summer

Nature artist Julie Testwuide, the subject of an April WAG story, gets us ready for summer with a new exhibit.

WAG had the pleasure of speaking with nature artist Julie Testwuide  for our April issue (Furry and Feathered Inspirations). So we were delighted to hear that she has a new show opening today, June 1, at Oak & Oil gallery in Katonah that features her paintings and photographs of all things summery but especially the sea and horses. Jewelry by this versatile artist will also be on display.

She is paired with Andy Hammerstein, whose seascapes will put you into the mood for the softest of seasons as well. He’ll also be represented by landscapes and nudes. And yes, if his name sounds familiar that’s because he is indeed the grandson of the late, great lyricist, Oscar Hammerstein (“South Pacific,” “The Sound of Music”).

The opening reception is from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The show runs through July 1. Oak & Oil is at 89 Katonah Ave. For more, call 914-232-8100 or visit oakandoil.com.
