Skin in the game

Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, a purveyor of clean luxury beauty, launches first skincare line.

Skin is in. Maximize products? Minimize products? The jury’s still out. We ourselves love to layer products and try new things. So we were excited to hear that Youngblood Mineral Cosmetics, a purveyor of clean luxury beauty, has launched its first skincare line.

Aesthetician Pauline Youngblood developed a strong passion for skincare after her own battles with severe acne, along with a deep empathy for her patients suffering from severe skin conditions. These inspired her to create a skincare collection to complement her cosmetics. It includes a Nourishing Cleansing Oil ($43) for makeup removal; Micellar Water ($30) to remove makeup and tone the skin; a Daily Enzyme Exfoliant Crème ($59); a Radiance Renewal Treatment Glow Serum ($68); an Eye Impact Revitalizing Eye Treatment ($58) and an Advanced Refining Serum with 5% Lactic Acid ($74).

Meanwhile, for those whose love of beauty is more than skin deep, get set for “The Beauty Brief: An Insider’s Guide to Skincare” (Thames & Hudson, Feb. 9, $29.95, 216 pages) by Katie Service, editorial beauty director of Harrods. Ingredients, terminology, regimens, product labels: They’re all discussed here. Indeed, Service has done the work so we can just consult what looks to be the new beauty bible.
