Has he or hasn’t he? We have it on good authority that Tom Brady, late of the New England Patriots, has indeed bought a house in Greenwich. While he and model-wife Giselle Bündchen have long been New Yorkers, this led to speculation – actually just wild fantasizing – that he might join the New York Giants or Jets. We know, quelle ironie.
But such fantasies are over now that it’s clear he’s going to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Still, this being another Throwback Thursday, who here doesn’t enjoying reliving the Giants’ stunning upsetof the near-perfect Pats in Super Bowl XLII on Feb. 3, 2008? It also offered one of the best half-time shows, in which Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers performed his “I Won’t Back Down.”
In the midst of another crisis, the Great Recession (December 2007-June 2009), the Giants demonstrated that what Alexander the Great said is true: “There is nothing impossible to him who will try.”
