Many music fans will remember Kenny Loggins from his work as a singer, songwriter and guitarist with the duo Loggins and (Jim) Messina in the 1970s. But he also contributed memorable songs in the 1980s to films like “Top Gun,” “Caddyshack” and “Footloose,” leading to the title “King of the Movie Soundtracks.”
At 6 p.m. Friday, June 10, at the Jacob Burns Film Center in Pleasantville, the Grammy Award winner discusses all this and more, including his new book “Still Alright: A Memoir,” with JBFC board member and Broadway producer Dori Berinstein. The conversation will include clips from some of his most beloved films.
Every ticket ($75; $60 for members) includes a signed copy of his new book, (four days before it’s available to the public), courtesy of The Village Bookstore.
