A majority of cafes disregard the message of “inclusivity” when it comes to their products, despite the wide range of present day eating habits. Typically menus -especially at bakeries- do not include Gluten-Free, Vegan or Vegetarian options, as many business owners view these altered recipes as too much of a hassle; frugally and laboriously. But, lucky for those of us with sensitivities (and cravings), Nutmeg was basically founded with us as a target audience.
From baking for her family and neighborhood friends back in California, to farmers markets, and local restaurants and caterers, Cindy Bothwell has been growing not only her love for baking, but her business for many years. Over the fall of 2016, Cindy Bowthwell and her husband Noel, opened Nutmeg, accomplishing Cindy’s dream of owning her own bakery and cafe where people can truly enjoy her creations the way she enjoys creating them.
Located in a quaint, almost home-style rustic shop with small counters and shelves piled with fresh pastries, Nutmeg resides in the heart of Tuckahoe. Cindy Bothwell and her team cook and bake everything and anything you could imagine. Whether it be Gluten Free, Vegan, Vegetarian or just the ordinary recipe, Nutmeg has a large array of sweet treats, savory lunch and dinner options, and deliciously crafted drinks.
