Twinkle, twinkle, all the stars

The holiday season finds luminaries, like the rest of us, in a festive mood.

Actress and singer Phylicia Rashad will perform in “The Most Wonderful Time,” a concert at Mount Vernon High School at 7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 5. There is no charge for admission, but a canned good or unwrapped toy will be gratefully accepted at the door.

“We are so pleased to have the immensely talented Phylicia Rashad perform as part of our holiday concert,” said Superintendent of Schools Kenneth R. Hamilton. “We encourage the public to come out and help the less fortunate in our community while enjoying great music.”

The concert will also feature The Jenkins Brothers and other special guest performances. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. The school is at 100 California Road. For more, call 914-665-5300 or visit mountvernoncsd.org.

Then The Gambler himself, Kenny Rogers, ambles into Westchester County Center at 7 p.m. Dec. 11 for a concert of holiday favorites and his greatest hits. Tickets range from $51 to $85. The County Center is at the junction of the Bronx River Parkway, Central Avenue and Tarrytown Road in White Plains. For tickets, call 800-745-3000.
