Waterworks

“Waterways II” is the name of a new exhibition opening May 30 at Heather Gaudio Fine Art in New Canaan.

And we were pleased to hear that Ridgefield photographer Bonnie Edelman – we focused on her horse-themed work back in our May 2012 “Triple Crown” issue – is one of the nine artists being featured.

Edelman, who has worked with such internationally known photographers as Sante D’Orazio and Francesco Scavullo during her career in publishing, is now devoted to her own fine-art photography. Her evocative body of work, “SCAPES (Land, Sea, Sky),” presents the world in a ethereal blur of color rather than precise detail, a modern take on abstract art.

The exhibition will also include the debut of new work by Cornelia Kubler Kavanagh, a sculptor who both lives and has a studio on the water in Wilson Point. The collection, called “Wave Forms,” continues the work of the artist, who has exhibited in the Miami Art Basel Design District and the Venice Biennale.

“Waterways II” also features works by Shawna Ankenbrandt, Sophia Collier, Michael Dweck, Roxanne Faber Savage, Karen Gunderson, Katherine Parker and Eric Zener.

The opening is set from 5 to 7 p.m. May 30. The gallery’s summer exhibition will continue through Aug. 24. Heather Gaudio Fine Art is at 21 South Ave. For more details, visit heathergaudiofineart.com.
