An artistic sign of the time

For many artists, the coronavirus has been a case of exhibitions interrupted, postponed or even canceled. Valerie Larko – a New Rochelle-based artist – was scheduled to have a show of her recent signage paintings, “Signs of the Times,” at Lyons Wier Gallery in Manhattan in late March and April.

One of WAG’s favorite events – the American Heart Association’s Westchester Go Red for Women – is going virtual with a Zoom extravaganza Wednesday, May 27, from 11:45 to 1 p.m.

When Marist College students heard their spring semester was cut short, due to the spread of the pandemic, they were faced with a great challenge – to transform their annual “Silver Needle Runway” fashion show to a virtual platform.

These are not the best of times for the United States Postal Service – the agency Americans love to hate but can’t live without. The Postal Service does more than sell stamps, handle letters and ship packages.

Color us comforted

Headwaters Relief Organization, a nonprofit with 15 years experience of working with disaster relief nationally and internationally, has created a coloring book – “When We All Stayed Home” – to assist parents in helping their children stay occupied, learn and also understand what is going on around them.
