Merry ‘Little Christmas’

A happy Twelfth Night

Today marks for many the Twelfth Day of Christmas, the feast of the Epiphany or Three Kings, when Christians believe God was manifested to the wider world in the visit of the Three Wise Men to Baby Jesus. In some traditions, particularly in Tudor England, Twelfth Night, as it is also known, was as big a feast day as Christmas. “Little Christmas,” as it is also called, also marks for many the end of the Christmas season, although that doesn’t close in the Roman Catholic tradition until the feast of the Baptism of Jesus, Jan. 9 this year.

So let the reveling continue.
